The incredible Amish company, BluRail Excavating, that built my barn, foundation, and driveway returned to my property this week to add final amendments to the outside of the farm that will enable me to safely host the public, should I so choose, this summer.

In this article, I am going to break down what I had added, why I had it added, and most importantly, what it cost me in total. I share this for anyone else considering buying raw land, developing it, starting a farm, or engaging in agrotourism in some way.

Am I getting to the end of my funds? Yes. Is that how most new businesses are started? Absolutely. It’s part of the adventure.

So without further ado, let’s dive into the details of what I needed to get 6.74 acres of previously undeveloped land ready for visitors or potentially schools this coming summer.
