When I didn't do THIS to my barn... something amazing happened
When the Amish finished building my barn last year, everyone told me I was crazy to not do this. My gut told me not to... and this is what happened as a result.
When July 2024 rolled around and the Amish had just finished installing a third version of a sink the town requested for the structure to satisfy ADA requirements… I was left with a few decisions regarding my structure.
I was in shock AND awe at what the structure looked like: I had no idea it was going to be so beautiful (and massive). When I hashed out the details with these guys earlier that year, I figured I’d be left with a solid, basic barn ‘center’ of sorts that I could do a lot of things inside. I had no idea it would be a living work of art.
That’s probably half in due to me having zero prior construction experience, and not truly grasping the size of the dimensions I had chosen. But for everything else, from the details and accents, to the doors and windows, I was at a loss for words. I knew I had a responsibility to this structure and all of the future activities that would go on inside and outside of it.
People in my life, as well as those online, had lots of opinions regarding what I should do. I didn’t listen to any of them, I suppose, because I am on a divine mission over here.
By not doing this to my barn… here’s what happened.
